Snoqualmie 2013 Chard Picmonkey

2013 Chardonnay

Snoqualmie Vineyards

Columbia Valley

Alcohol: 13.5%

Suggested Retail: $10

“We liked this wine. It shows some citrus at first. This is followed by an attractive balance of crisp apple flavors offset by a hint of pear-like creaminess. There’s a bit of Viognier in the blend (5%), which may bolster the aromas. Somehow this Chardonnay reminded us of apple ciders enjoyed in childhood (in a good way). Clean flavors and just enough oak to give it an attractive light toastiness. There is surprising richness and a medium-to-long finish. If not terribly complex, it certainly has all you could want in a Chardonnay for ten bucks. “

Food Affinity: “Try with a mushroom risotto or oven-baked chicken thighs garnished with Mandarin orange sections and slivered almonds.”
