Ice Harbor
Kennewick, WA
Style: Kölsch
Alcohol: 5%
IBUs: 20
Serving style: kegs and 12 oz. cans
Availability: Year-round in much of Washington
Appearance: “Light golden color. Fluffy white head that calms down quickly.”
Aroma: “Lemony and floral. There’s some hoppiness evident in the background.”
Taste: “To me it has a nice balance of malt and hops. They’re both in there, but the taste finishes pretty dry and crisp.”
Food Affinity; “Well, with that umlaut, Kölsch must be a German-style beer and I’ll bet that the crispness would offset the sweet fattiness of pork dishes like pig knuckle, but also would work with (not-overcooked) barbecued ribs. Otherwise, I like the idea of drinking this beer with battered fish.”
