Dru Bru, Snoqualmie Pass, WA
Style: German Style Golden Ale
Alcohol: 5%
IBUs: 24
Serving Style: Bottles, cans, kegs
Availability: Year-round in Washington
Appearance: “Color is straw or maybe light gold. Head is white, light and frothy.”
Aroma: “Smells malty—a little like freshly-baked bread or like real Champagne (the French stuff).”
Taste: “It’s light and lively, but there’s some charm there in the presence of the malty/yeasty flavor. Maybe a whisper of hops on the finish.”
Food Affinity: “Of course with kölsch, German food comes to mind. One of those big Bavarian pretzels with mustard would go well and probably a lot of pork dishes, too. I’ll save at least a couple of cans to have with an American hot dog when I can finally listen to a Mariners’ game again.”
